Kink-Friendly Boudoir: What It Means and How We Keep It Safe
I’m Chasey Smith, the human behind Raine Studios in the Elizabethton / Johnson City, TN area. I’m a kink friendly boudoir photographer, which means you don’t have to tuck away the parts of yourself that feel a little too “much” for a regular studio.
You don’t have to explain why you own rope, or why that collar matters, or why you feel most like yourself in latex instead of lace. You just get to show up as you are, and we build the session around that, calmly and on purpose.
My studio is private, judgment-free, and set up so you can explore kink, fetish, or alternative aesthetics in front of the camera without it turning into a circus. No side-eye. No awkward jokes. No moral commentary. Just art, light, and clear boundaries.
What “Kink-Friendly” Means at Raine Studios
“Kink-friendly” here means I understand kink and fetish culture enough that you don’t have to educate me while you’re half-dressed. It also means I’m not trying to turn your session into something it’s not. We’re creating images, not playing out a scene for an audience.
I respect dynamics, protocols, titles, and the gear that comes with them. If a collar is significant, I treat it that way. If there are things that are only for your partner to touch, I don’t touch them. If certain positions or gestures have meaning, we talk about that and work with it, not against it.
My job as a kink friendly photographer in Tennessee is to create a space where your identity, your dynamic, and your aesthetics are normal. Not shocking. Not a punchline. Just part of the plan for the day.
What That Can Look Like in Your Session
Let’s talk visuals. Kink-friendly boudoir and fetish boudoir photography can stay fully within the realm of styling and mood while still feeling very you. That might mean:
Leather pieces like harness bras, belts, cuffs, boots, or jackets layered over lingerie or nothing at all under a robe.
Latex outfits, stockings, gloves, or bodysuits, lit so the shine and texture really show without washing you out.
Collars, leashes, harnesses, and chokers styled as central pieces or quiet details, depending on how “loud” you want the images to feel.
Rope used as an accessory, intricate body patterns, or simple wraps, always with safety and comfort leading the way.
Classic lingerie, fishnets, bodysuits, and stockings mixed with more alternative pieces so you can move between “soft” and “edgy” in one session.
Uniforms or role-inspired looks: think suits, medical-inspired outfits, military-style pieces, or workwear that fits your personal kink language.
Props like floggers, paddles, crops, canes, masks, blindfolds, or restraints used as visual elements, not tools in an active scene.
Bring the gear. I’ve seen it before. We’ll talk about what each piece means to you and how you want it to show up: front and center, or just hinted at in the background or in your hands. If it’s part of who you are, it can be part of the photos.
Consent and Boundaries Come First
Your limits are the plan. We don’t negotiate them on the day. During your consultation, we’ll talk through what you want, what you’re curious about, and what is absolutely off the table. Then we put it in writing so we’re both clear before you ever step into the studio.
We’ll cover things like: how much skin you’re comfortable showing, what pieces of gear you want photographed, whether your face is visible, and if there are specific poses or angles you do or do not want. You get to say “no” to anything, without needing a reason. “No” is a full sentence here too.
During the session, you can stop, pause, or change direction at any time. If something doesn’t feel right in your body or in your brain, we pivot. No drama. We just adjust the plan and keep going in a way that feels safe. That’s true whether we’re doing classic boudoir or full-on fetish boudoir photography.
If you want more detail on how a session flows in general, I break it down step-by-step in my What Actually Happens at a Boudoir Session post so there are fewer surprises and more control on your end.
Rope and Shibari Sessions in Tennessee
Shibari and rope work are beautiful on camera, but they come with real safety considerations. I don’t tie. For rope-focused sessions, I bring in a trained third-party rigger when one is available. Their job is the rope. My job is the photos. We stay in our lanes on purpose.
Before we shoot, you, the rigger, and I will go over your limits together. We’ll talk about where rope can and cannot go, how intense you want the tie to feel, and how long you’re comfortable being in it. Safety comes first. If something tingles, pinches, or just feels off, we stop and adjust. No image is worth ignoring your body’s signals.
As a shibari photography Tennessee option, my focus is on shape, texture, and emotion: the curve of the rope, the lines it creates on your skin, the way your body holds stillness or tension. The rigger watches circulation, nerves, and overall safety while I worry about angles and light. You’re never left hanging without someone paying attention. Literally.
Bringing a Partner into Your Kink-Friendly Session
Partners are welcome. That includes romantic partners, D-types, s-types, play partners, or whoever is part of your dynamic. We’ll talk ahead of time about how you want them involved: fully in the photos, present but off-camera, or just there for support and snacks between sets. All valid roles.
When partners are in the photos, we focus on connection and power dynamics, not explicit acts. That might look like hands on shoulders, someone holding a leash, a partner adjusting rope, or the two of you sharing eye contact that tells the whole story without anything graphic happening in frame. Suggestive, not explicit. Intense, but still gallery-safe.
We’ll also talk about consent and comfort for everyone involved. Each person gets their own boundaries and their own say in how they’re photographed. If anyone needs a break, we take it. The dynamic can be powerful without anyone feeling pushed past their limit for the sake of a shot.
Privacy, Discretion, and How Your Images Are Used
Your images are not shared anywhere without your written permission. Period. After your session, you’ll get a model release where you decide exactly how, if at all, your photos can be used. You can approve only faceless images, only certain outfits, or choose full “no sharing” across the board. You can also change your mind about sharing later; you just can’t un-send files that are already in your possession, so we make choices carefully up front.
Your online gallery is private and password-protected. You control who sees it. I don’t tag you, I don’t hint at your identity, and I don’t casually mention details about your session to other clients. Being a kink friendly photographer Tennessee clients can trust means I treat discretion as part of the service, not an add-on.
If you want to dive deeper into the kinds of sessions I offer, including kink, fetish, and alternative styles, you can read more on my Boudoir & Kink page. It lays out options so you can see where your ideas might fit.
Working With Me at Raine Studios
I’ve been doing this for over seven years, and I run Raine Studios solo. When you book, you’re talking to me. When you show up, it’s me at the door. When you’re in front of the camera, it’s just us and whatever gear you decided to bring. No big crew. No rotating assistants. Just a controlled, private space in the Elizabethton / Johnson City area where you can breathe and settle in.
In-studio boudoir starts at $685. From there, we can add on specialty options like rope-focused sets with a rigger, more elaborate styling, or additional time if you have multiple looks or dynamics you want to explore. I also offer travel sessions if you’d rather shoot in your own space or at a location that fits your scene better than a studio. We’ll build the session around your comfort level and your vision, whether that leans soft and moody or full alternative boudoir photographer Johnson City energy.
If you’re looking for a kink friendly boudoir photographer who won’t make it weird, that’s my lane. Bring the leather, the latex, the uniforms, the rope, the partner, or just yourself and a favorite collar. We’ll talk through limits, aesthetics, privacy, and logistics before we ever start shooting so you know exactly what you’re walking into.
When you’re ready to start the conversation, head over to my inquiry form and tell me what you have in mind. You don’t have to have the perfect words. Just give me a sense of your style, your comfort level, and what matters most to you. We’ll build the rest together.
