What Actually Happens at a Boudoir Session with Raine Studios
I’m Chasey, your resident boudoir photographer in Johnson City TN and Elizabethton. I shoot in a private studio, I’ve been doing this for more than seven years, and no, you do not have to know what you’re doing in front of a camera. That part is on me.
A session with me is simple: it’s a photoshoot with good music, clear direction, and zero weird small talk. You show up with your outfits and your attitude. I tell you exactly where to put your hands, where to look, and when to relax your jaw. We make sharp, moody, badass photos.
It’s not awkward, and it’s not a therapy session. You don’t have to cry, heal, or have a life breakthrough. You just have to show up. “I wanted to” is a reason.
Before the Session: We Talk First
Before you ever step into the studio, we start with a consultation call. It’s short, straightforward, and very low drama. We talk about the vibe you’re going for: dark and moody, soft and minimal, sporty, glam, a little feral, or a mix. You don’t have to have language for it. If you say “I just want to look like me, but extra,” I know what to do with that.
We’ll go over outfits, ideas, and anything that is a hard no. That can be certain poses, certain angles, or anything you just don’t want to see in your final gallery. You set the rules, and I stick to them. This is also where you can ask your questions about timing, hair and makeup, and how the whole process works from start to finish with your East Tennessee boudoir photographer.
After the call, if you’re in, you’ll get a contract and invoice for the retainer. Once those are taken care of, your date is locked in on my calendar. No mystery, no chasing. You know exactly when you’re walking into the studio and how long you’ll be there.
What to Bring: More Than You Think You Need
Let’s talk outfits. Bring more than you think you’ll use. Worst case, something stays in your bag. Best case, we pull out an option you almost left at home and it ends up being everyone’s favorite. Bring the outfit you’re not sure about. That’s usually the one.
Lingerie is great, but it’s not required. Bodysuits, matching sets, oversized tees, leather, a jersey, a blazer, a partner’s shirt, boots, heels, bare feet. If it feels like you, it can probably work. I’ll help you sort through everything when you arrive and build looks that actually photograph well, not just look cute on a hanger. We’ll mix textures, layers, and shapes so you get variety without needing a suitcase of clothes.
Keep it practical. Cut the tags, remove wristbands, and skip anything that digs in or needs constant adjusting. Bring neutral underwear, pasties if you like, and anything small that feels personal: jewelry, a favorite mug, a book, a leather jacket that’s seen some things. You can also bring nothing and we’ll work with sheets, shadows, and shape. Minimal can be very effective.
The Session Itself: I Tell You Exactly What to Do
When you arrive at my private studio in Elizabethton, we don’t rush. We start by laying everything out and walking through the plan. I’ll look at your outfits, choose what works best with the sets and lighting, and map out the order so you’re not changing a hundred times for no reason. You’ll know what we’re doing and why before we start shooting.
Then we get into it. I direct every pose, angle, and expression. Nobody knows how to pose. That’s my job. I’ll show you how to sit, stand, lean, and lie down, where to place your hands, how to turn your head, when to breathe out, and when to hold still for a second. I’ll demo things, adjust you by giving clear verbal cues, and keep an eye on all the small details so you don’t have to.
There’s music on. You can pick the playlist or let me run it. We keep it relaxed but focused. You can take breaks whenever you want: water, bathroom, just a second to reset. You’re not “on” the entire time. If something doesn’t feel right, we don’t do it. If you change your mind halfway through about an outfit or a pose, we pivot. Your boundaries set the line, and I stay on the safe side of it. The whole point is that you feel in control while I handle the technical side of boudoir photography Johnson City style: lighting, angles, and mood.
How Privacy Works: You’re in Charge of Your Images
Let’s be clear about this part. Your images are not going anywhere without your written permission. No surprise Instagram posts. No “I thought it was fine.” If you don’t sign a model release, your photos stay between you and me, full stop. I treat boudoir like I’d want my own images treated: private by default, shared only on purpose.
When you book, you’ll see a model release form that lets you choose exactly how, if at all, your images can be used. You can allow anonymous crops, only certain outfits, only images where your face isn’t visible, or nothing at all. You can also change your mind later and tighten things up. The point is that you have options, and you’re the one making that call, not me, not the internet, not anyone else.
After the Session: Your Gallery and Choosing Favorites
After the session, I go through everything and narrow it down to the strongest images. You don’t have to scroll past 200 nearly identical shots trying to guess which is better. That’s my job. I handle the culling, the editing, the color, the skin tones, the contrast, and all the little tweaks that make the final set feel intentional and polished without looking overdone.
When your gallery is ready, you’ll get a private online link. From there, you can view everything at your own pace, on your own time. No pressure, no sales pitch in your ear. You choose your favorites based on the number of images included in your collection, and if you fall in love with more than that, you can buy additional images. A lot of people do. It’s a good problem to have.
From there, we can talk about how you want to enjoy them: digital only, prints, albums, or a mix. Some people keep everything on a locked folder on their phone. Some go full album on the nightstand. Some tuck prints into a drawer just for themselves. There’s no right answer. There’s just whatever makes you grin when you look at them.
Kink-Friendly and Judgment-Free
The studio is kink-friendly, period. If you’re interested in specialty sessions with gear, themes, or more specific scenarios, we handle that like adults: clear communication, safety, and respect. No side-eye, no commentary. If that’s your lane, you can read more and reach out through the Boudoir & Kink page and we’ll plan something tailored to you.
Working with Me: What It Costs and How to Book
I’m a solo East Tennessee boudoir photographer, and you work directly with me from inquiry to final gallery. No studio manager, no rotating photographers, no guessing who will actually be behind the camera. It’s me in the emails, me on the consultation call, me in the studio, and me editing your images. If you like a streamlined process and one point of contact, you’ll like how this works.
In-studio boudoir starts at $685. That covers your time in the studio, my direction, professional editing, and a set number of final images. You’ll see all of that laid out clearly when you inquire, so you’re not guessing or doing math in your notes app. If you want to add more images later, you can. If you want to keep it tight and curated, that works too.
If you’re looking for Elizabethton boudoir or boudoir photography Johnson City and the surrounding area, this is where I work and where I shoot. The studio is private, easy to get to, and set up specifically for this kind of work: clean lines, neutral tones, and lighting that does most of the heavy lifting before I ever touch an edit. You don’t need a special occasion. You don’t need a partner. You don’t need a reason beyond “I wanted badass photos.” That’s enough.
If you’re ready to talk dates, ideas, or you just want to see if we’re a good fit, fill out the inquiry form. Tell me what you’re thinking, what you’re curious about, and what kind of energy you want in your session. I’ll get back to you with details, options, and next steps. No pressure, no scripts. Just a clear path from “I kind of want to do this” to “oh, that’s me” on your screen.
